Got Beet Greens? Make a smoothie with them!

Do you throw away your beet greens?

Beet greens are amazing and full of health-promoting antioxidants.

You can juice them or make a smoothie with them.

I usually juice them but made a smoothie today.

Added non-GMO Soy Lecithin, ripe bananas, a few dates, hemp seeds for protein, and one peeled orange to cut through the sweetness of banana and dates and add a pinch of freshness.

From @hminutritionschool #repost see below on the power of beet greens!

“Juicing beet greens this morning. Why?

Although beet leaves are bitter to taste, they are rich in chlorophyll, protein, calcium, magnesium, copper, sodium, beta carotene, and vitamins A, B, and C. Importantly, they are rich in high-quality iron
and can reactivate red blood cells and supply fresh oxygen to the body. The copper in the leaves makes the iron more available to our system.

Beet leaves also have more nutritional value than their roots and have a higher content of iron than spinach.

While beetroots can be kept for weeks, the greens will wilt after a day or two in the fridge, so plan on using them soon after you buy them.

This a great recipe for energy! Forget the coffee :)
